Pastor Ronald C. Wilkerson and his companion, both in ministry and in marriage, Missionary Carolyn Wilkerson, founded FAITH TEMPLE DELIVERANCE CHURCH OF GOD IN CHRIST (FTD) on October 19, 2003. Their venture came after spending much time assisting many dynamic men of God in their ministries and through the teaching and preaching of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Together they make an awesome team fueled by a passion to fulfill God’s mandate for these turbulent times. Their thrust on character building by merging spirituality with everyday living provokes people to pursue a life of integrity. Wherever they go they exhort and encourage their listeners to deepen their intimacy with God and rise to their divine calling and destiny. They are the proud parents of eight, three sons and five daughters, and the grandparents of twenty-three, with one great grand.
Renowned Bible teacher, evangelist, prophet, pastor and watchman, Elder Ronald Clark Wilkerson began fulfilling his call to the ministry in 1987 when he founded Ministry of Intercession (MOI) in Little Rock, AR. Sixteen years later he became Founding Pastor of FTD Ministry in Hot Springs, AR, under the umbrella of the Judaic Pentecostal and Christian Fellowship, established by Bishop D. Dewayne Rudd of Little Rock, AR. During the first full year of inception, the church congregated at the Hot Springs Singing Center in Hot Springs, AR. During which time FTD hosted many City Wide Revivals, Praise in the Park, neighborhood evangelisms, and other outreach community events. Our leader, Elder Wilkerson, through divine inspiration of the Holy Spirit, chose as the Church Theme: “The Church Designed With You in Mind!!”
Holding strong to his faith and via inspiration from the words of the late Presiding Bishop, Bishop G.E. Patterson, “If You Can Have It, God Can Heal It,” Elder Wilkerson took the church to higher heights. Little did we know, he would become the first fruit of such a power packed prophetic promise to the ministry. In June 2004, Elder Wilkerson developed an immediate need of a liver transplant. After much prayer, fasting, and seeking God for His perfect will, the church, in spite of growing pains, continued on to see what the end would be. First Lady, Missionary Carolyn Wilkerson, Sis. Leotha Berry and Bishop Lethel Davis carried the torch, during Elder Wilkerson’s surgery and recovery. God miraculously moved on his behalf and on June 10, 2004, Elder Wilkerson had a successful liver transplant and a remarkable recovery.
Two months later, in August 2004, Elder Wilkerson received a visitation from the Lord with distinct instructions to return to his upbringing, The Church of God in Christ (COGIC). The church then became a part of the Malvern District, under the leadership of Superintendent David Withers, thus receiving a name change from Faith Temple Deliverance Ministry to Faith Temple Deliverance COGIC, presently located at 3409 Baseline Road, Little Rock, AR 72209.
